Default Downside of not having an under tray

Since I've got an aftermarket carbon bonnet fitted I have no under tray fitted and I'm wondering what are the downsides to this?

Assuming you're still on TMIC, then yes it will. Any air persuaded to go through the scoop will flow around the intercooler rather than around it.

i was on the rolling road a couple of days ag with a newage intercooler on my pre-facelift classic, and with no scoop undertray.

The car ran really well except for ever rising air inlet temps. I was seeing 45-55 degrees at times and it was a real pain.

I will definately be adding the correct undertray (any ideas which one i need?!) and possibly a turbo blanket or heatshield to help keep the high temps away from the intercooler. car is running a V2 sti engine with acl bearings, steel headgaskets, with a VF24, 440s, GEMS ecu, no cats and otherwise standard.
