Default Maf, knock sensor problem

Had codes thrown up so changed Maf and put new one on,, still throws light up at times...loose power and holds back when light is on,, when light goes off it runs fine... Is the knock sensor coming up because Maf sensor??

And why would it still throw it up with new map,, anything else to check?

Knock sensor wiring...

Had the same thing. ECL was flashing up randomly and cutting boost to 0.5 bar. Fitted new knock sensor and did the same thing. Took it to Richard Henry in Bradford and Andy required the knock sensor through a spare grommet in the firewall to the back of the ecu. Reset the ecu to check for codes again, problem solved

What year etc is it and what code came up? If you have changed the maf with new, either the new one is faulty or the maf wasnt the problem to start with. You also mentioned the map sensor?

Right changed the Maf reset the ecu and it has not come back,, but the knock sensor code is,, and coming up a lot more,,,

I know what it all does and picks up like the vibration etc through the engine,,,but sometimes I can give it full boot and it's fine always up through the gears,, then I'm just cruising around at 60 and it throws the light up and it starts to splutter and shake the whole car,,, is this just a cause of a faulty sensor,, surely if I had serious problem it would come up say while on boost or something like that,,, not just randomly

Change the sensor. Id same problem and a new sensor fixed it. Or worst case scenario can be wiring like brian had

they need to be torqued correctly also.

Once the CEL comes on the car will go into limp mode, again done exactly same on my car
