Default boost solenoid help

hiya just brought a 51 reg wrx and there seems to be a problem with boost it will only boost to 8/9lbs and its been remaped .ive confirmed the remap with the mapper and i think boost solenoid is faulty ive pluged the two green connectors in and no clicking ive checked power to conector and power is there is there anybody local to me that is willing to lend me there solenoid or has a spare icould try before i buy im local to derby city center if anybody could help car runs and drive perfect or is there any other checks i can do.ive pulled actuator pipe of and it overboost fine so think its got to be solenoid cheers for any help

Could be worth just giving it a clean with some brake/carb cleaner... often frees up a sticky solenoid.

ive tried that but still nothing doesnt click or anything so think its dead but read on here there a couple of people had same but changed and still the same so was hopeing to try one before i buy it as dont want to waste money on the wrong thing ma8

Also, you can blank off the outlet pipe from the BCS with a suitable sized screw. If the boost level is the same blanked as in-blanked, then the BCS is not venting the boost away as it should do.

If you don't have any luck sourcing one to loan locally, let me know as I think I have one somewhere that I could send you on a sale or return basis?

i will try the blanking the outlet of and let you know and yes im deffo interested in that if you could find and send if that fixes it i will buy off you no probs thanks alot for your help mate

ive blown down both pipes and they are free and not blocked also m8

Def sounds like a duff BCS... PM me if you need mine and I'll have a root around for it but sounds like you should be OK for a local one.

It's a blue y reg with gold rims once I've fixed this boost issue will use it more only got it yesterday but pleased with it I'll try and get a pic up mate
