Addi, Are you getting moisture dropping on to the headers from anywhere, Do you know where in the engine bay its coming from, If not do a cold start and wait for it to appear

It may knock your rpm up a couple of hundred but I wouldnt have expected any undue smoke from that and you would have seen smoke normally with a bit of revs, though I am taking it that you mean from the exhaust?

Very very very long shot and I could be completely over thinking this and wrong but...... with the A/C on the cool air is no longer drawn from the cooling system, this then heats up the coolant slightly (hence why on some cars a secondary fan comes on as soon as the A/C is used), with the increase in coolant temperature also comes an increase in pressure which could be seeping through a weak spot in your head gasket causing the smoke/steam.

When I used to to track days on hot days I'd put the heater on full and the fans on full, kept the engine coolant cooler.

However if the smoke is blue then just ignore me

Wtf? The cooling fan cuts on with the ac on because of the massive temp increase of the ac gases, give it a go! Leave your ac on for about 10 mins then start grabbing pipes - pot luck if you get hot or cold!
