Safe to keep boost high?
Hi guys, Im new to scoobynet but have owned a few imprezas over the years. I now own a 2005 wrx300 which is totally standard apart from a manual boost controller which I fitted about a year ago.
Against my better judgement i decided to turn the boost up quite high and although in 4th and 5th gear it sometimes hits the fuel cut I have become addicted to the increased power and am reluctant to turn it back down.
Im probably going to get slaughtered by you lot for doing this because in my own mind I suspect this is a bad thing to do.
My question is will this cause damage to my engine and if so, what upgrades should I be looking at next to compensate for the increased boost?

I would have a chat to a good mapper and get it done properly, on your turbo with a few extras you will get between 270 to 300hp and it will make it a better around drive.

I will put it back to standard tomorrow. Thanks for tge advice. In actually a qualified mechanic, just dont really see the danger other than runnIng a bit lean that it dould cause. Saying that though Ive never really gone into depth with tunning so havent experienced thd aftermaths of playing about to much.

I would personally have it checked out on a rolling road checking for det and checking the AFR's if this is all good then keep as is, remember if you remove and go standard then the car will probably run a bit rough till the ECU has re learnt all it needs to.
Cheers Ian.
