On way back from a car show today and i suddenly had no boost just making a boost leak sound. I get in jack it up look at all boost hoses seems fine bit smokey when floor it. Then i thought to try the hks ssqv and in side it was not sitting right so changed to another hks valve i had now seems fine and does the normal hks chirp on low boost(when not putting foot completly down) when i put foot down hit full boost it makes a completly different noise ? Now im being paranoid lol any ideas cheers rob

i had the same problem as you, was loosing boost and making what sounded like turbo chatter at low revs

turned out the dump vavle was leaking - when i put the oem recirc valve back on the problem dissapeared completely

it might be sheere coincidence - but maybe both dump valves are faulty??

 

That's what I'm thinking mate fine when driving normal but when I hit 1.5 bar it makes some weird noise when let off. But fine if go to 1 bar then let off

 

Any one else had this prob?

 

No one ? Could a dv leak boost at a certain level of boost?

 

I just took her out again she losing boost well that's what boost gauge saying ? Just sounds diff if I lay of throttle slow to it sounds like a Hks but if lift foot off quick it just does a whoosh any idea ?

 

any ideas guys

 

Go back to standard dv to see if that cures it?
