Default Impreza GT-99 wont start.

HI.

I just renovate my engine Ej205. later when i was done i start up the engine, the engine run reallt good,
But efter an hour i shold start it up again, it just spin on the startermotor.

The fuelpump starts when the key is on, and pump stops after a few seconds. like usually.

No error codes.

The key symbol go out the the key is on.

I check the harness on the engine - nothing wrong.

I ask the same question in swedish forum but noone answer it.

What can it be??

Regards Björn

Sounds like a possible crank sensor. The injectors are earth switched i believe so having a 12v feed doesnt prove there switching. The crank sensor is one of the few sensors that controls both spark and injector switching

Forget the injectors, no spark, no start.

Have you removed a plug, earthed it and cranked the engine?

If no spark, suspect coil packs.

Yes i thougt it was the crank sen from the beginning. I buy a new sensor, and there was no difference. i also measure all the cables from the sensor to ecm. and there was no errors too.

But when I try to start sometimes i get a troublecode 11 and that one is the cranksens. I cant find any errors with that sensor or the harness. the trigger wheel is ok too.

No the injectors doesent opening. I believe it is the ECM who makes the problem.

But it expensive to buy everything to test if there not is the problem.

I have the same startproblem earlier. but it was that i dont had a fuel pipe with a cap on :S but now i have it on.

That I can't say.

You'd need to ask one or two of the respected tuners on here: David at API, Harvey Smith, Alan Jeffery. To name but three.

Have you changed the trigger wheel? there are different types which require a different sensor. as above would also be a good idea to check coil switching.

Agree no spark no start, but no spark doesnt mean coil pack or packs. there swiched from the ecu using various signals mainly crank sensor.

do you have access to a noid light?

No i havent switched the triggerwheel. and i've tested the old cranksens. but the engine started once, and I turned it off myseft but then it wouldnt start again. I suspect the ECU is the problem. No, I dont have acces to a noid light.
