Default Continuous power steering pump failure

Recently changed out the power steering pump on the car when the other one went in all was fine for approx 3 or 4 days it then began to whine very quiet in a straight line but louder on cornering. Though it may have been a fault with the pump as it was a second hand one so replaced it with another an the exact same thing has happened. Is it possible that my steering rack is causing the fault or is there something else i should maybe take a look at before replacing this?
The car is a V4 STI Type R full spec is on my project thread if that makes any difference https://www.scoobynet.com/projects-4...ti-type-r.html

Update.
Should have searched the forum before posting really but I have topped up the reservoir and it has stopped whining I must have a leak somewhere so will have to have a good look at the connections an see where it is. If anyone has any idea of the more common places then please let me know where to check first.

Either the rack itself by the boots, or mine was where the PAS pipes went into the Rack and needed a quick nip tight.

PAS fluid lights up under UV lamp, so worth a look in the dark with a black lamp.
