Default Service Time!

OK,

It's nearly a year since I bought the car and the main dealer kindly sent me a message to remind me that MOT and Service are due, although not covered by warranty.

I am not too worried about the MOT, as I have a friend who is a good mechanic so I can take it there rather than dealer for MOT.

My questions relate more to the service side of things. Since owning the car, I haven't done 3000miles. According to the service book, on 13/7/10 at 44505 miles, it had the 50K mile service done, and I have a receipt for the work done. When I got the car, last year, it had done 50200 and according to book, only one service is left at 60K.

So, should I pay the £266 they are asking, for a basic service and a pretty dealer stamp, or should I do it myself.

I did notice that there seemed to be a tiny little cough in the power map at around 5500-6000, which is the only thing that is steering me towards main dealer at this point, as it is still just under warranty. If I didn't do it, I would spend the £266 on front pads & discs, and a bit towards some rubber too.

So, what's everyone's thoughts?

Cheers

Well, I have decided to postpone the service for now, and just have the MOT done. She is going in today, so I am expecting a list of tyres & brakes before I am giving a new MOT. Hopefully not though, I will just have to wait and see.....

Wish me luck
