Default Home made sports cat, with pictures

I purchased what was adverised as a classic "sportscat" from a well known seller on here. There were no pictures, but based on the seller ratings, I went ahead and purchased.

First impressions were that its a bit rusty:

Next I thought, why would a sports cat, not have a wide mouth?

After a few minutes, I realised I've seen something like that before.
Here are the comparisions with a regular cat:

As you are probably aware, removing the heat shields and brackets from a standard cat, doesn't make it any sportier

Can anyone else see the simularities?

Awaiting to hear from the seller, who has ignored messages so far.

It could be a genuine mistake by the seller ,as i too have advertised a exhaust with a sports cat ,as it looks remarkably like the prodrive unit i used to own. I have never taken the heat shields off so no idea what they look like underneath ,but upon reading this thread realise that it is just a std downpipe with the heatshields removed (probably due to rattling).

I did put that to the seller, as I don't like to throw accusations around. But his silence, speaks volumes. Add that to the fact that the seller has stripped more than one impreza for parts, so should pick something like this out very easily.

Yes I saw that, but why log on if you are on holiday, unless you want to check urgent messages regarding. I'm not buying that crap about logging on and not checking messages.

I was trying to buy something from the same seller and he ignored my messages so I went elsewhere, looks like I had a lucky escape.

I should have done the same, when mine were ignored.
Oh well, playing the waiting game for now, although I've given plenty of time to respond.
I didn't pay by paypal gift, cash, sexual favours, magic beans etc so I'm covered by regular paypal.

Just would prefer things to be resolved amicably before I get the paypal big guns involved.
