Default STILL LEAKING

Okay on good authority ive Carafaxed my rear lights and spoiler but still appear to have a leak.

I think this is coming from the Boot Seal

But im not sure, theres no damp behind the lights them selves or on the reverse side of the carpet.

If it is the boot seal where can i get one and how easy is it to replace.

If its not the boot seal any guidance on re carafaxing the spoiler.

The spoiler is a STI type on a blob WRX

Hope someone can help

boot seal will take u 5 mins to fit ad try one from a breakers first they not charge u much for it. tbh i cant c the seal being the problem. any signs of ur car having been in a bump? all the gaps pass the pound coin test? all pannels line up? no shiney paint on the inside of your back pannel boot floor? lights be my first thought the botls keeping the spoiler on will more or less be a tight fit in the holes in the boot lid so the ammount of water u would have passing would be next to nothing. if in doubt take the nuts off bit of clear silicone round the base pf the bolt where it penetrates the boot lid skin and re tighten.why not try opening ur boot and hosing round ur lights looking for leaks? worth a shot even put toilet paper round the lights on the inside that will show any water straight away. hope something av suggested helps

Did you actually remove the rear lights to replace the sealant?
Did you remove all the old sealant first?

If you did both, and used enough Carafax, it's unlikely to be that.

Have you had the spoiler off? If not, remove it, and place a continuous 10mm bead of Carafax around all holes, bolts and wiring entyry points.
Then place another continuous bead all round the base of the spoiler, around 25mm in from the edge.
Refit spoiler.

Now dry out the boot. Place toilet paoper around the inside near to the boot seal, spray car with hosepipe and when it's drained a bit, lift boot and check for leaks. I had one on my boot seal, I pulled it off and seated it in Carafax, that cured it.

Check for leaks from around and under the rear screen. Mine leaked from there too If it's that, you need to pay someone to remove it and reseal it. A decent car glass place will do it for about £50 or so, maybe less.

Check also that no water is coming in via the little plastic flaps low down on both rear quarters. they can jam open and let water in, they are supposed to let air OUT.

THIS SODDING RAIN!!!!!

Right i have carafaxed it and all apears good on the lights and the Spoiler, can see any condensation or trace of water.

Same goes for the lights

The seal by the kick plate in the boot is wet so i think thats the problem.

Alcazar you mentioned you resealed the boot seal, im taking it its a case of taking it off and cleaning of the **** underneath?

Ill try to put a picture up to show you guys what I mean

Relly thankfull for the help so far !!

Yes, I marked where the water appeared to get in, pulled the seal off it's metal upstand, smeared it with Carafax and reseated it.

I think mine has suffered every type of water ingress failure known to man......

Mine leaks at the rear screen, and slightly at the O/S rear light.

Need to re-do the light and waiting on my replacement screen being tinted to get that swapped.

Hopefully what will sort the water ingress on mine.

Another rear screen? I thought I was the only one to have that particular problem.

LOL, that's because I've used it on my caravan and know how good it is, so push it on here.

I once got a tube form Halfords for £1.
