Default which oil ???

hi to everyone on here ive been recommended to join as i have just bought an impreza 2005 in o2c blue but a sport looking like an wrx , need a little advice about oil done some research but having no joy and conflicting information ...been told to put in 5w30 fully syn in and already bought some to top the oil up is this right or should i go for a diffrent grade also looking for a set of spotlights to fit as having no luck trying to source some can anyone help please ..... big thanks to for the advice guys in advance ...

The oil is fine mate for everyday driving but if mapped to a higher degree the 10/40 would suit, I.e millers etc

thanks for the quick response on the oil problem so many diffrent sites giving out conflicting info... i will carry on using the 5/30 fully syn for the time being as its only a sport ....cheers for the reply ..

The 5w-30 is fine, but you can also use a 5w-40, not a problem with either.

Out of those, the best ones are the Fuchs/Silkolene Pro S, Millers CFS/CFS NT, Motul 300V, Redline and Gulf Competition. The Motul 8100 X-Cess, Millers XFS, Fuchs GT1 XTL/Supersyn, Shell HX7/Helix and Mobil Super 3000 are good, cheaper alternatives.
