the heatshield has come loose as there was only the top nut holding it in place, as I had the downpipe fitted a while back, so all the nuts were not screwed back in.

however, although the heatshield is now loose and moving freely , I cannot get it out, as the top mount intercooler bracket is in the way, it sits directly above the heatshield and sticks out 2".

has anybody had experience of fitting a turbo blanket on the stock TD04 Turbo, and if so, did you have to remove the intercooler in order to remove the heatshield. how can it be done, any suggestions ?

My heat shield has come loose on my td04 and it's squeeking, I couldn't find a blanket small enough tho

 

Just remove the intercooler, it's only a 5 minute job
