Default Benefits of Reverse Manifold on EJ20

Hi guys

I am looking into getting a reverse manifold on an EJ20 engine.

What are the benefits of a reverse manifold on an EJ20?
How easy is it to install?
What sort of power returns does the reverse manifold give?

Thanks in advance

The main advantage of a reversed manifold is a reduction in lag as you shorten the length of pipe work on the FMIC. SO not really a power gain just a slight improvement in response.

Ok that makes sense. Is it an easy thing to install? I've heard about repositioning the alternator?

Also are there any kits out there or is it a standard manifold modded?

IMO it isnt really worth it for the money/time spent for the gains.

People only do this conversion when running big power with a big turbo, it would be pretty pointless on a mild power car.

Yes. When I fitted a FMIC the difference in lag was so small I could barely notice it after a few days.

There are probably no benefits on smaller turbo installations and any benefits on bigger turbos are probably so small they are not worth the effort and expense.

If you fit an efficient intercooler kit and it is properly mapped there will be minimal lag. If you are experiencing lag has your car been mapped properly or is it running an efficient core?

Well I am refurbishing an engine on the side and looking into fitting a reverse manifold. Just checking whether it is worth doing or not and whether people would rather buy a lump with/without one?
