Default what can it handle

Just browsing various threads tonight and thought i would ask this question here. After a recent rebuild in my legacy i swore i would just leave it as is when back on the road and not up the power anymore. Looking at new turbo and maybe some fueling upgrades.

Spec after rebuild:

replacement ej20y open deck block rebuilt with following done:
Block honed and faced
Heads faced, valve stem oil seals replaced, valves lapped
Cosworth head gaskets
Wiseco 92mm pistons
Eagle rods
ARP head studs
ACL bearings
11mm oil pump
new cambelt kit including waterpump
Hyperflow TMIC
vf36 with upgraded actuator

Just curious what kind of power this engine would be able to reliably handle if i went with larger twinscroll turbo and some other fueling and intake mods?

You could easily run 450-500 without any hassle at all mate

As above Ryan said 400-450bhp,with better rods you should be able run above that

We are running 490bhp on the Open deck block and as our engine builder said we can push our engine up to 550bhp without the problem

Thanks for the info. I don't think I would be willing to open up the block again to pit in some better rods, maybe I should have researched that a bit better! I don't think my 5 speed gearbox would be able for anything over 500 . I could also upgrade that to a 6 speed I suppose, just need to find out which one fits my legacy.

At 350 I've destroyed 2 5speeds mate , doubt you'd last any time at 500 with a standard 5 speed

Its running about 350 now and going fine. I have a spare one there anyway! Lads in US running good power through them. I'm researching what's needed for 6 speed upgrade so its on the books for early next year
