Default Quick answer on injectors needed

Need a definitive answer to this quickly, as I've just been offered some injectors.

My car is a v2 STi 555, and I've just bought a turbo upgrade and to my horror have discovered I only have 380cc injectors and not the yellow 440cc that I thought I had. Anyhow, I've just been offered a freshly removed set of yellow 440's and plan to fit a Fuel Pressure regulator with them for my VF22.

My question is this, as my car is a Phase 1, will these yellow injectors be a direct fit or will I need a Carl Davey adapter set to use them?
Alternatively, these injectors are coming complete with a fuel rail from a facelift car (Phase 1.5 or 2), will this fuel rail and injectors be a direct swap for the phase 1 setup on the phase 1 Inlet Manifold?

Sorry for all the questions, but need to quickly get my head round this so I can source exactly what I need.

Many thanks .

If the 440cc are long nosed Ph. 1.5, then they are direct swapover (same pattern as Ph.1) - no fitting kit.

Ph.1/1.5 style:-

If they are short nosed phase 2, the the CD kit is needed.

Ph.2 style:-

Not sure on rails compatibilty - I think both 1.5 and 2 rails are a direct swap for Ph.1 rails, but don't quote me. If they are, then happy days, as obviously the injectors won't need to come out of their native rails for fitting.

I'd fit 550's or modify some cheap ph2 440's if you are going with a vf22. you are going to run out of headroom pretty quick IMHO...even with an fpr I'd want as much Injector room as possible...maxed my 440's with frightening ease on my TD05 !

Cheers Joz, you're the man . I'm having a crack at modifying a v7 TMIC to fit as well (Seeing as I got it for £30 thought what the heck).

I'll google some pics of phase 1.5 & 2 injectors and compare to the ones for sale. Long nose you say?

Pics added to my post above.

But they're here, on CD's info on the injectors, etc:-

But I agree with 53 - you'll be maxing out the 440s (c.325-340bhp) before maxing the VF22, and long before a Bug TM's airflow.

Will you be getting 550cc instead though, MR? Or even cheaper, get your 440cc ones flowed to 910c by Lateral Performance?

Please do, or otherwise you'll be losing out on some gained bhp in the remap!

Yep, think I need to try find some phase 1/1.5 550cc injectors, or will they be rare as hen's teeth. I'm guessing that I'll more than likely be limited to getting some phase 2 500's and a CD Conversion?

Cheers for your input guys, saving me squandering cash on the wrong items.

why 910cc, bit of overkill isnt it. dont you have a choice of what they can be flowed to.
i do actually know the guy who does these for lateral funny enough.

Well, it depends on the ECU choice. For example, Simtek (Alcatek) and Syvecs allegedly have great control - so why not 910? Future proofed to the hilt then.

Not sure how well ESL (or maybe Apexi PFC) - no doubt, the ECU choice the OP will opt for? - will work large injectors though. So yes, in that case, 550s would prob be wiser.

Not sure if LP offer differing flow rate options - proabably!

So do I, makes little difference in the right hands and mapped accordingly .

Adaptor kits are nothing to be scared of...£30ish + £45 for some Ph2 injectors...must get ph2 for Laterals flow match and mod services.

Thanks for the advice guys. I've bought some very cheap Phase2 440's that I'll get flowed to around 700, so plenty of headroom and future expansion too. And a set of CD's adapters too.

Oh, and I've also found out that the fuel rails only fit on the corresponding phase's inlet manifold.
