Default Engine Removal - Late Classic

I am in the process of generally freshening things up on the Scoob and have most of the front end in bits.

To go on I have a new quick rack, re-bushed alloy arms, hubs, turbo, sport cat and sub frame. So thought while it's all off I'd get the engine out do the pulleys and belts, clean the bay up and change the engine mounts.

Is there a "How to" anywhere on SN or on any other Subaru related site someone could point me in the direction of?

Cheers.

Have the workshop manuals, and a specific how2 for engine removal in a late classic. It's basically a walk through.

No worries, I`m uploading the full manual to my hotmail "skydrive" thing, so will just send it to you too,pm me your email addy and I`ll bung it over when it`s done. I`ll send another then with the engine removal guide, its pretty clear and concise, and I printed it off so I could have it there when I did it, in the end didn`t need it as it was REALLY straight forward. As I`ve done engine swaps and remove and refit in the past.

Here is a good links for the genuine workshop manuals to save you £1.50+ on Ebay.

http://ken-gilbert.com/impreza-manuals

Seems to have most there.

I`ll convert the engine removal guide I found into images and whack them up here now.

As you can see its American and NOT for a turbo, but I`m sure you get the gist.

I will add these form when I did mine, shows the clutch pivotbar.

The trick come refitting is to remove the pressure plate on the clutch and remove the bearing (spring clip inside the pressure plate), then fit it onto the gearbox, then mount the pressure plate. Fit the engine as normal and then push the lever on the rod as hard as you can towards the rear of the car and that clicks it home, assuming youve aligned the clutch and fitted the engine correctly
