Slow down there. What is your power target and what is your budget?

Do you have an overall budget that you'll stick to? If, so that will help us to advise you on your options...

Your std. engine is good for that. So if your block is salvagable, then keep that. Then you can prob. buy one of the many 2.1 stroker kits (which inc. forged pistons/rods that are much stronger than OEM) and get it all fitted. 5k should see you okay for the stroker kit and the labour for the rebuild, by one of the specialists. Just need SC46 Bllet (or similar), supp. mods and remap...

...But I'm guessing out of that 5k, you also budgeted for a FMIC (possibly), turbo, injectors, etc...?!!

I'm confused - is that your CURRENT spec?

If so, you're surely running c.420+ bhp at the mo, right? So if motor is okay, why go for a forged build now? Wouldn't that be unnecessary at this time?

Or do you simply have a spare 5k burning a hole in your pocket [jealous]?!

Is your engine healthy or have low compression, are you tried contact any Subaru specialist?

Your limiting problem is turbo, you are running SC46 non billet if you are looking for more power,I would suggest 20G billet should male above this power for good price,SC42 should be good too,but MD321T should be best bet and will make for sure 450bhp

You may need to go to 740 injectors too.

Ignoring the small amount of top end power you may pick up from a 2.1, I doubt anybody would argue that you certainly pick up torque.
We can re-use your SCDB and turn it into a 2.1 stroker using a variety of piston/ rod combinations.
Drive in drive out starts at £4650 inc vat and offers very good value for money when you weigh up the cost of all of the parts and the extra work we do. You'll get it back clean enough to eat your dinner off too
