Default Plug gap ?

Hi all,
I'm about to fit a new set of NGK PFR7s in my 96 STI running 450 BHP with 20% Meth. The question is do I gap my plugs & what to gap them too. One mate told me my feeler blade will damage the electrode & to leave it,but someone else told me it's vital it's set right.
Any advice appreciated, Richard.

I gapped mine to .8 but mine is standard.

A feeler gauge is a must , you will find they won't be far off .8 so will only need a minor adjustment .

I had NGK PFR7,s in my last Scoob, a MY00 UK Classic with gap set to 0.7. The car was running close to 340 Bhp. It misfired at motorway speeds. Resetting the gap tp 0.65 cured this. Steve.

The NGK's should be gap to 0.6 from factory. I was running similar power with same plugs, gap at 0.6.

No problems
