Today i installed a boost gauge to my bug wrx, i teed of the inlet mani in the correct place, when i hit full boost the needle wavers back and forth like lightning lol, i have been told the t peace needs i restrictor in it ?? in damn sure i have never done this before, any ideas chaps
Just tighten a cable tie around the pipe that feeds the gauge. All it needs is the tinyest hole to move the needle , mine did the same. Alternativly u can fill the tee peice with resin and drill a tiny hole. Cable tie is the easy fix
It's the same principle as the restrictor 'pill' in the actuator vac pipe, the vacuum from the engine is very unstable it is just a case of forcing it though a small hole.
Good idea with the Resin in the pipe, I might try that. I'm not fussed about the needle movement but my gauge rattles like buggery!!!

The problem with the resin is trying to drill a hole small enough.
