error code p2012
has anyone experienced this before?
came up on my 2005 wrx ppp then went off by itself.
car seemed normal and was told by garage that code is a vvt issue they have not had before. reset it and told to drive and see if it reappears!
any thoughts please.
no extra mods on car!

I think it might be an issue with the Tumble generator valves. Ive had it on my car. The code description reads "Intake Manifold Runner Control Circuit Low". That is what I had on my car. It is either the TGV's sticking slightly or the sensor not working. I dont think it is a major issue apart from having to reset it all the time which is a pain. I am currently in the process of having cosworth TGV deletes. These remove the TGV's giving you better air flow. The TGV's are only there for better emissions on cold idle and easier cold starts.

thanks cd09.
sounds about right, emission controls eh.
no easy fix then? have to get a cheap code reader so I can read and reset if needed, any suggestions?

If your handy with the tools it can be a cheap but not straight forward fix. A TGV delete kit is fairly expensive mine was about 400 ish.. And obviously once the TGV's have been deleted you will need a remap. There may be a lower cost solution to the actual problem, that being possibly a new sensor or perhaps a new actuator motor. But without knowing the exact cause of the issue, deletion is the only cure with the added benefit of more power . I have the OBDkey which is a good little bit of kit.

There are cheaper alternatives though.
