hi guys got an 07 sti hawk, last month my engine management light came on, fault code:

po 171 bank 1 running too lean

it will be ticking over normally then the revs drop to about 500-400 ish and sounds like a lumpy tickover, then engine management light comes on and runs normal again.

i cleared it but its come on about 3 times in last month if i clear it it runs fine and will at just random times do it.

mods are : full decat, k+n panel filter, dump valve and a remap

any help would be great so annoying

Air leak? Vac pipe possibly. Open the bonnet run the engine see if you can hear a sucking noise

As above but possible MAF or O2 sensor.

Mine does a simular thing. I have changed the MAF and whilst it seems to have made it better it still does it but less often. I have asked on here if I need to reset the ecu after fitting a new MAF but no one seems to know.

I was at my local Subaru specialist yesterday with the same problem and he told me disconnect battery for half an hour after fitting the new MAF.
