Default boost gauge wiring

Hello all

No doubt this questiion has already been asked so im gonna ask again. Ive got myself a boost gauge but need some help wiring it up. Im sure theres a postive eire and negative wire however i have a third wire that im not sure about.

Heres a pic for you



Anyone got any advice please

Black= Earth
Red= ignition live
Orange= illumination live
I think?
Is that right fellas?
Been a while since i did mine, but i'm sure thats what i did

yeh will be illumination. You can test it by connecting the red and orange to positive batery post and black to the negative. Then take away the orange and see what happens.

hook em up to your clock when you turn ignition on itl come on, rather then to your lights ...

Red is live blck ground orange is illumination

well that depends on whether your want the illumination to be on permanently or to come on with the rest of the dash illumination...

Just put the red and orange to ignition live and the black to ground mate, I can see from the pic u have fitted it in the vent, so ground the black to the bolt for bonnet pull and then run e othe 2 wires to the ignition loom test the loom for the ignition wire and there u go

Cheers for that advice guys

Ive got another issue tho. Whats the best way to get the vacum pipe threw into the engine bay. Ive dont the driver side vent mod and its on a classic x plate subaru

If you look just below the clutch fluid resovoir in between 2 brake pipes u will see a grommet use that it comes into the car just by the clutch pedal, became full to route the pipe carefully so as not to pinch it causing false readings and boost leak

Ive done that so far however i think i might have connected wrong. Is this on the correct pipe work??

That's wrong pipe mate, u have tapped into the actuator, I was told to use 1 on top of manifold there is 3 pipes next to each other, or schoolboy clinic said u can use the small pipe that feeds the dump valve, u need to replace the pipe u have spliced into so the car won't over boost at the actuator,

Ive noticed the car is not boosting quite as much since i cut into the pipework. Ive already replaced the cut pipework with the blue hose pipes i already have. Would this cause any issues? How would i test the actuator to make sure its working???

The blue silicone pipe will be fine as long as its secure onto the fittings,

Cheers for that mate. what would cause the car to feel like its not boosting properly after i cut into that pipe mate
