Default MD321 Oil Feed Pipe - What's Going Wrong?

Had a MD321H/RCM400 turbo fitted last week, and the oil feed pipe is leaking (where the braided hose goes into the sleeve)

I've got two replacement pipes, but they have connectors at different angles, and the pipe is twice as long as i currently have.

Is this fitted right....

.... and how and i supposed to fit this pipe, which is twice as long?

Is it supposed to be routed differently?

Any advice or pics of other turbo/pipes would be appreciated.

(I've bought another pipe the same as i currently have, but won't be with me untill later next week, and the car is being mapped on the 2nd)

Is there a copper washer fitted under the restrictor?

That's the one i've bought, but won't have it for a while.

I've got one from RCM (in the pic) but have no idea how it's supposed to go on, it's far too long, and connectors seem like they are at the wrong angles

I think so (i didn't fit it), but the leak is coming from where the braided part meets the sleeve, not the connector itself

Assuming the nut is tight, it might be a bad connector. I've had more than one myself.

It seems some don't like being overtightened, or tightened up at an angle etc etc.

As it's essentially two cone shapes mating up together to form a seal, any slight damage is likely to cause a leak.

Shouldn't leak from there as that's part of the pipe and not the connector........who fitted the turbo ?

Looks like the correct pipe IMHO but with a failed join from the factory ?

The pipe that is currently fitted is right, but the replacement ones are twice as long, with 90 degree joins on each end (the current one has a 45 degree angle at one end, and a straight one at the other end)

Agreed it shouldn't leak from the ferrule, Unless its got a small hairline crack in it from when it was pressed as that can often happen with small pipes like that, any good hydraulics place could cut that ferrule off and re crimp a new one on for a few pennys

The RCM one comes out of the turbo facing the other way (3 o'clock, instead of 9 0'clock), then comes back on itself over the turbo inlet pipe

That's a bit of a roundabout way......won't it just flap about the engine bay ?
