i've got a 1999 version 5 type r and the engine check light has come on. The car runs fine until it comes on boost,it doesnt pull at all and just goes bang bang out the exhaust. sounds awesome,but not good. Will reseting my ECU help? please help me, i need my car tonight. i've tried filling it up with different fuel which i know is ok. i've also done an ECU reset,but no joy. bloody cars.

Main dealer...select monitor.

 

that could be a number of things, boost control solenoid, speedo failure Etc. These limit the car to 3000 revs.

Had the same problem with my v5 type r check engine light came on and didnt pull above 4500rpm.

Took it to dealer and it was the MAF (airflow meter) £290 later car was back on the road.
