Anyone ever put a rover v8 in an impreza?
I have tried a few searches, but nothing. The question is why!
I have bought a 1.6 impreza to go sand racing, and next year I can enter a larger engine class.
I have a spare rover v8, and on the sand you can go a little mad with the exhausts, which would be fun!
So basically a cheap rwd impreza- I know a turbo lump would be simple, but forced induction on the beach is a short life I reckon!
I have my wr sport for the hill, so I have that angle covered
Any thoughts?

lol seems a bit of a mad combo but it may work id be tempted to mesure up what space you have find a rover sd1 gearbox its rear wheel drive get the prop shaft with it and get your prop and cut them both to suit then get it balanced it will work if you can get it to fit the subaru box is 2 different to modify to you v8 block because the starter motor will be mounted on the gearbox depending on the age of the v8 is it 3.5 3.9 or 4.2 but for a project like this youll have to be a good fabricator and welder as youll have to cut the engine and gearbox mounts out of an old rangee or landy and make them fit yours ive done a few projects like this but for building atvs not in a scooby you might be better off fiting a turbo lump and getting a landrover safari snorkel with a sand trap and fitting that it would be cheaper quicker and the car could be 4 wheel drive and faster
