Hi guys,

My 97 Impreza WRX RA (1.5 facelift so has old style dash) has been struggling to start, sometimes it starts first time and other times can take a few tries before it will finally jump into life.

Also last night I was driving and gave it the beans and then 5 mins later the 'check engine' light came on for a few seconds then went straight off. I've driven the car since an all appears fine.

All fluids are also fine.

Any clues on both problems? Guessing new battery for the first problem?

check to see if there any codes stored on the ecu
get your battery drop tested at your local parts place or garage also stick a voltage meter on the battery and check the alternators charging properly ..
