Untuning help please
I know this may seem strange but when i bought my car it had already been modded with a 3" turbo exhaust, k&n cold air intake and remapped to 273hp by scooby clinic but now i want to return it to standard.
I know replacing the exhaust and intake is as simple as putting the standard items back on but what about the ecu ? i'll be quite honest and say i really don't know much about subaru's but what are my options with going back to a stock ecu ?

The newage ecu can be mapped from the OBDII port (the port you would use to check error codes etc actually that is where most ecus are mapped from!!).
Your best bet would be to speak to one of the mappers on here (Dynamix, EngineTuner, Scoobyclinic ,Slowboy to name a few). They will be able to point you in the right direction.

from experience, id say the clinics maps are very good and ok, if your hammering it, there may be more fuel going in, as your mapped for more power! At light throttle bimbling though, id be suprised if theres any difference at all!
Subarus are known for being thirsty, but how bad is yours? what sort of miles do you get to a tank full?

I would imagine you are barking up the wrong tree here. A good remap would improve your day-to-day fuel economy by optimising the timing. The only reason you might want to change is if it was mapped for 99 ron and you only wanted to fill with 95 ron because it was cheaper. This is also not really worthwhile as a well mapped to 99ron car will return better MPG than the original map on 95 ron almost wiping out any price differences.
The only reason you may benefit is the reduced fuel usage from the reduced power when you put your foot down - but you can do this by not burying the throttle.
If you do have super poor fuel consumption its worth checking it actually running as it meant to - lambda all working etc... Most people report MPG improvements post remap assuming they aren't enjoying hooning it about afterwards.

I have also found that i am getting better fuel econamy since my car has
been remapped,i'm getting around mid 20's with normal day driving at
337/340. If i give it some then i'm around your mark.Putting it back
standard would'nt make much difference i don't think ?.I may be wrong.
Good luck.

Same here. 250 - 280 - 320 - still got the same mpg thanks to sensible mapping from JGM.
In fact, in 320/320 tune on my old WRX I managed 350 miles on a full tank with steady 60-70mph motorway driving which was best I'd ever eaked out of the car.
One thing a mapper can do on a newage is do you a switchable boost (via demister switch).
That way, even if you stomp on the pedal you won't run full boost, so a tiny bit more economical perhaps?
If I drive it like I stole it maybe 200 on a tank, but 180 would perhaps suggest there's something else at fault?

May i suggest you have the car checked, it may be as simple as a MAF clean, get a mapper to plug in to see what the car is doing, you may even have a front lamba starting to fail, which is making your ecu run off your fueling map instead of closed loop (best economy).
if your ever in Cov i can look at it for you.
