Hi All, I have an '01 Bug wrx It was mapped on 97 RON fuel to 324/320. My question is would I be able to get much more from it by fitting a full 3" decat, and getting it mapped on 99 RON fuel? Just wondering if I could get much more from it, or even if it would be worth while?

It has the following engine mods:-

- ECUTek remap by JGM
- Walbro Fuel Pump
- Perrin Silicon Turbo Inlet Hose
- Green panel filter
- APEXI 3 port boost solenoid
- Harvey up pipe
- Prodrive decat centre section
- Prodrive sports cat down pipe
- 3" Milsport Cat-back Exhaust
- NGK7B Spark Plugs
- STI Top Mount Intercooler
- STI Pink Injectors
- Ported VF35 Turbo by GRD
- Ported Headers by GRD
- Kakumei Stainless Steel STI Scoop Undertray

I'd of thought a full 2.5 to 350 hp

 

Hmmm 350 would be nice, not chasing figures just want to maximise the setup at my disposal.

340 will be possible,350bhp too,but think you should be better with 2.5" decat exhaust(Prodrive sport cat is restrictive,not much,but is it) like 3",just due you will loose torque mainly

Hehe - hello mate - that car spec sounds familiar
My advice - think about decat, then get Simon to re-map it on V-Power / Momentum.
And re-gap those plugs. Bet she'll do 330-340 with a decat

 

Yeah the previous owner didn't do a bad job

I am doing plugs at the weekend and look for a decat then map tweak on vpower, see what she makes

 

Nice car as I remember and should be something to gain with decat and 99ron fuel
