My 94 uk scooby seems to hold back about 3500 rpm but then goes through it. MY boost solenoid is clicking when the engine is reved & have checked my Bro's his seems to do the same, Does it need cleaning or is this normal ?. Have plans to change the fuel filter tomorrow & check the sparkys to see how good they are. Any ideas a big help.

with my 96 uk car,i had a similar problem.what mods do u have?or what changes have you recently made?it could be a zillion things!
in my case it was that the aftermarket dumpvalve would not perform well with the induction kit,but the standard valve worked fine and vise versa...

Some cars just do seem to have a flat spot in the rev range. Mine does between 4500-5000 rpm. ( mines a legacy turbo ). I have driven a few imprezas with the same problem of different ages, and driven a few with no problems. I think it may be some poor mapping at the factory. Anything I have triad has never got rid of it, though I have made less noticeable. It feels like the ign timing is retarded a lot at that point

Mods include 13.5 psi boost, Hks induction kit, Jap inovations decat downpipe, Magnex rear box & centre section. Before i made any of these changes it did it before just not as noticeable i suppose as power was down anyway. Everything else engine side is standard.
