Default Hawkeye Steering

Alright guys, Ive done a search but nothing concrete...

Ive got 18x9 Rotas fitted to the Hawk now, had the tracking done and the tyres have done appx 400 miles.

What im getting is very light and non-reactive steering, I.E when I turn 1/8th it doesnt make much of a difference, but if I turn 1/4 fast and return the steering to centre there is like almost a delay in the turn of the steering.

It feels very greasy/loose, not reassuring at speeds whatsoever, ive thought it could be the powersteering and bushes and the obvious factor of stretched tyres...but I wanted to check on here to see if anybody else has this.

Cheers guys!

Mine felt like that after tracking done too. Its settled down now after a few hundred miles of driving.
I put it down to the tracking adjustment. I am running Prodrive PFF7 18s with Pirelli tyres.

See I never had it before I put the 18x9's on, feels very wishy washy, not confidence inspiring at all! Not sure whether its maybe just the stretched rubber though? Or maybe just the amount of grease on the new tyres...Yokohama Parada Spec 2's by the way, ive done maybe a bit over 500 miles now though.

Something needs stiffened!!!

Its because they are 9" wide probably on a <40 offset. Its a trade off between looks and handling.

I hear what you are saying, id have thought it would have improved the handling with the increased contact patch of the tyre on the road though but just suffer tramlining instead ?

Iv had the same on countless cars from BMW's to Subarus & the worst change to handling came when I fitted 275/40/19 with a 20 offset on a 350z!! IMO its the increased weight and lower offset that causes the most ill effects of bigger wheels.

On my Blobeye Im currently running 18x8's with 235/40/18's on a 34 offset. Its ok for everyday driving but for any hard driving or trackday I switch to std 17" Sti wheels with 235/45/17 on RE070's.

Im running Rota G Force 18x9 with 225/40/ZR18 Yokohama Paradas, maybe I just need to put a few hundred more miles on her and see, ive heard some folk say that it took about 1000 miles for tyres to feel right
