CP, JE, Wiseco or Cosworth pistons. For 500 i think it would be safe to peg the block.
Rods wise Carillo or BC would be my choice. Many other decent parts to choose from.

kas has pretty much got it covered. for 500 though you'd be fine with say manley rods. have a luck at real street performance. they have good deals on piston and rod combos

As above for best prices Real Street Performance or here Advance automotives

Cosworth pistons, rods i would suggest too Cosworth, but they're pricey,Manley H beam rods should be enough for 500bhp and above.Just beware the Eagle ESP H-Beam rods, they're not the best for 500bhp

800 for the block as thats what the cost was to have it pinned properly and 450 for the rods and pistons. Have lots of other goodies as well!

Just get it built using the right bits and enjoy it 2.5's aren't known for their reliability when you start winding up the boost

I know, wish i'd never started to be honest. Finally got it back tues after 2 months of it being off the road for a general engine cleanup and few mods, ie heads, injectors, turbo etc. Just for it to blow the bottom end the next day! Didnt boost it once, warmed it up properly etc as i always do. There was a tapping sound which we thought may be a noisy lifter at first, dumped the oil and seems the bottom end has gone
Getting really fed up of it all now, owned it 2 years and driven it for 1

Bloody hell I didn't realise that! I knew JB was building it back up again but I didn't know he'd finished it. Any idea what caused it? Personally I'd either do a big build (if the budget allows) or throw a version 7 or 8 sti short motor in there.

I know someone selling a forged short motor, 2.35l I think, with the block pinned, pretty sure the asking price is 2K.

A correctly built pinned 2.5 using the right parts will cope fine with 450 -500.

Wiseco, CP or Cosworth Pistons

Carillo, Cosworth, or Pauter Rods

Thanks for all the comments guys, apparently mine is a semi CDB and is fully forged. It was mainly pistons & rods i was after, not looking to change the engine as its practically brand new! Gonna stick with the 2.5

Supertech pistons get my vote. VERY quiet for forged pistons!

If you give David at APi a call he can sort you out with them and some of his steel rods too!

They certainly work in my SC46 2.5 conversion!
