Default What Engine Will Fit?

Hi There...

If You Had read my other post you will of seen a have a very sick EJ20

My question is ...Am i right on thinking that i have a phase 2 engine..

Sorry about the pic only on i can find atm

If so what year of engine could I fit..I had an sti bottom end sorted from shusby on the forum but later found out that my heads are scrap and that he also had some v3 heads aswell which would suit he fine as i would like build the engine myself so ensure its well being...But the inlet manifolds wont interchange..Am I Right?

I dont mind about rebuilding an engine thats needs it as long as the block and heads are serviceable i,e slight noise or blown gaskets but dont want to spend £100s on it to find it wont marry up to my manifolds ect

So My Question is what year/Phase engine will fit?

Any help is greatly appreciated..lee

How do you tell the differance between phase 1.5 and phase 2...I have just been offered a full engine out of a 1998 Model but has not got the inlet manifold to see where the coil pack is...

Could i use the inlet manifold off a 1998 to make everything marry up??

phase 1.5/1998 will have inline Inlet manifold bolt holes on the cylinder heads - phase 2/1999 onwards will have offset manifold bolt holes.
Your 1999/phase 2 inlet manifold will not directly fit the earlier engine.
