Default Rear strut brace pics on a classic? This install shouldnt be hard!

Thuis really shouldnt be difficult- a bolt on solution! I cant get the rears to fit on to the top of the mounts without the arm that goes through the bodywork fouling, so i end up with this:

I have been told my the manufacturer that the pic shows that one on the wrong side, but have tried both on both sides, and it makes no difference.

Has anyone got any pics of one installed, or tips? I really dont think I should have to cut the body to fit them.

They have confirmed they have sent the right ones to me, after they told me that the front ones had the ends put on the wrong way by the factory!

Not really confidence inspiring but all help appreciated.

i cant tell properly from the pics and ill have to go and check in mine but are you sure you havent got it the wrong way round, isnt the flat edge cut out for a reason? ill check in a minute and let you know, on mine i had to fit the end pieces 1st then join the centre section together by doing up the bolts so take it apart.

Looks backwards to me, swap the brace ends round, cus the bar mount is pointing forward ans should be straight

i fitted ones like that , and they do take a bit of persuasion to get in the right position. Dont have any pics , and wont be taking the seats out (sorry) mines a Newage.

Try the ends without the bar attached , at least till you get them in. I definatly didnt have to cut anything. Im pretty sure the straight cut in the end was to fit past the seatbelt bracket , which may not be the case in the classic , but would let you know if you have it the wrong way round. It will be that shape for a reason.

I googled mine to find out how to fit mine , give yours a look too.

The ends look the wrong way round to me, if they were reversed it would allow the far corner in the pic to sit further down on the stud ,

I'll take some pics of mine tomorrow Grant.

If I remember right, it was a bit of a pig to fit. Sure we had to loosely mount the end plates and then get the bar part forced in and bolted up.

Then tightened the end plates fully.

It's meant to be a really tight fit.
