Question V5/6 STI Clocks into a V5/6 Turbo 2000

Hello all

sorry if this is the wrong section and been asked before but :

I have a v5/6 UK turbo 2000 wagon and bought some STI clocks to swop the standard clock with, The green plug on top seam all the same and seamed to match up well and everything works fine apart from the speedo that seam to read faster than it should , Also clocks are MPH versions and not KPH.

has anyone had this problem before and if so how do i fix it

Thanks to all for any help

Even if the clocks say MPH (normally a sticker) they are calibrated to KPH and require correction via the speedo cable.

The RPM of a JDM STi engine is high so this may read incorrectly as well.

Thanks for the reply,

So how do I adjust the cable is there simply an adjuster on the cable itself, or does it have t be done electronicily via a converter or plug in the ECU.

Thanks again

You can buy converters. I am no expert as my car was done at import. Some one will be along shortly to help out.

I think you will find if you look at your gearbox that a 99/00 uk/wrx/ & sti do not have a speedo cable , the speedo is electronic so no converter can be added only to the earlier classics.

I think you have to solder two wires to the back of the speedo to convert it from kmh to mph.

you dont add wires you buy a speedo converter chip like this,http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SUBARU-IMP...item5d2579f5a7
and wire it into the speedo wiring at the gearbox
red-+12v ignition feed
black- earth
yellow- kph in
grey- mph out
green- not used
