Default DEFI OIL PRESSURE FAULTY SOMETHING??

Any had any problems like this with there defi oil pressure guage. It sweeps on start fine and also works fine for about 10 mins then drops down and freezes. Doesnt go to zero goes between 1 and 2 and freezes.
Is this a faulty gauge or faulty switch?? All other guages work fine.
Thanks

Never. Firstly the sender is metal, secondly, it's designed to go in and around hot oil.

Could be a dodgy sender, but could also be dodgy wiring.

Check first that the wire FROM the sender is securely plugged into the rear of the control box/gauge.

Check that the daisy-chain wire, (if present) is securely plugged in at both ends.

Check along the length of the wiring for obvious faults, kinks etc.
Check the plug near the sender isn't faulty, loose, corroded etc.

Finally, check that the sender has a good earth. Do this by touching a piece of wire with the end bared to battery -ve and the other end to the outside of the sender. Get someone to watch the gauge.

If all this has been done and the problem persists, can you borrow a sender to try?
