Default Silicone turbo inlet = Worth it?

Hi all, I would like some advise, Im fitting a SC40 turbo soon with some bigger injectors to my 1999 STI. Is it worth fitting one of these? What benefits do they offer over the standard pipe other than looking nice?

Cheers

Silicone induction hose improvement are, because your old one is restrictive. After fitting our,i notice better sound and better air flow, more BHP around 8-10bhp,due silicone induction hose is smoother and have better flow.
The OEM turbo inlet is very restrictive and causes turbulence all the way along. The silicone version has a wider diameter at it's widest pont and is nice and smooth all the way through. That in itself makes a huge difference just to how much nicer the car drive.
That's my thoughts...Every have different opinions on this.

If its worth, yes is worth upgrade

Dead easy to do ,just slacken power steering pump and push to the right.Cut all the vent hoses of your old inlet as this will aid you in removing it .Cut the inlet if you have to and remove(hardest part of the job),then rub some washing up liquid around your new inlet and take your time and slide it under the manifold.I have fitted 2 of these and the 1st time it took me 20 mins ,last time 10 mins and it was on .Also remember when you have got the inlet 90% under the inlet manifold to put your jubilee clip on the turbo compressor so youcan tighten the pipe as soon as the inlet hose is on .
