Just wondered if anyone could help, back in November I had to have a new HG fitted (by a subaru dealer) thye had it for 5 weeks but since having it back I'm averaging 270 miles to a Ltr of oil, this I guess is not right, the car is an STI with the PP Pack on it, reg in 2007

ahh the 2.5 engine...........
that is far too much oil to be using, my 2.0 sti uses no oil at all.
have a compression test done the 2.5 suffers from ringland failure too

 

I known 2.5 cars use 1L to a 1000 miles but i think you might have an issue with the amount of oil consumption you are seeing though.

 

My 2.5 STI uses maybe half a litre every 3000 miles
