Default Blobeye Clocks into a Bugeye

Hi,

after 2 years and many rubbish economicle cars I finally caved into my cravings for another subaru (my third) and finally bought a 2001 Aspen White WRX (pics to follow in another thread).

upon investigating it appears the dash clocks have been tampered with in the way that the Engine Management LED had been cut off the board and the fuel gauge damaged in the process.

imprezabreaker on a popular internet auction site has a few sets of blobeye clocks (the one with the speedo on the right) and after calling them up to see if they will fit my bugeye they tell me the plugs should be the same but some people who have swapped clocks putting blobeye clocks into a bugeye had experienced an ABS light problem he said it was something about the polarity of two wired being different.

has anyone done this? and they seemed to think there was a fix for it, does anyone know about this.

The only information i can find searching is people fitting STi clocks to their Bugeye.

any help will be greatly recieved.

Mick

I have 2004 Blob STI clocks, on my 2002 Bug, fitted with no problems and didn't get ABS light problems, have you put the car on a diagnostics machine to confirm that engine light issue is now sorted...?

It rings alarms bells everywhere to hear that the clocks have been butchered

Yes mate ive got a scanguage2 permanently plugged in for mpg ect also does codes, no codes yet, although the previous owner replaced the engine 2 years ago for a 04 wrx engine so was probabily butchered to cover up whatever was wrong with it when she bought it. I might go and buy the blobeye clocks then and give it a go.

The clocks will fit fine ad long as they don't have the dccd display lights or are the defi style ones.

I have a set from a 2004 in my 2002 and it was plug and play, but I had to get the mileage corrected.

probabily a daft question but what is the difference between a WRX and the Sti blob ones if its not the defi style ones. the ebay seller is selling them with the mileage of my choice.

WX have the speedo in the middle and are orange / Black.

The Blob STi have the rev counter in the middle, rev bleep / light and are blue / black with reddish hands.

My blob clocks in my bug WRX work a treat..........even the rev bleep / loght.

Much later clocks have the sweep on startup like defi's
