Unhappy Car wont start after engine swap

Hi All,

I had 2 Subau Impreza WRX Imports (Car A 380bhp) (Car B 310bhp)

Out of (Car A) i had the following items.

Closed deck block
Fly Wheel
550 Injectors
Fuel Rails
FPR
Fuel Lines
pulleys
Apexi ECU
Engine Wire Loom
Turbo

(Car B) had the following new items

Short Shift Gearbox
Rear Diff

So i swapped all the items from (Car A) to (Car B) and put all inlet manifold, alternator, power steering, FMIC ect onto (Car A's) engine..

I connected everything and checked twice, but when i turn the car over its not trying to start

I checked the plugs and getting a spark, also got fuel to the engine, and compression is fine.

Checked all the fuses and they are ok

and even tried easy start but not a peep.

Any idea's before i tow it to a garage to find the issue?

have spark
have fuel
have air...

plugs where soaked and fuel was coming out the exhaust so cleaned and heated the plugs but still nothing....

i was defeated so towed the car to the garage that built the engine. they think it is a fuel issue so will find out tomorrow.

check the wires though from your old loom and your new loom, see if you have a different impedance

Cam timing or camshfts fitted in the wrong position ie left swapped with right or inlet swapped with exhausts.

Difference in engine is the new one is forged mind was standard, both blocks are closed deck blocks and both from 93 reg imports

Well the garage I took my car too said all 4 coil packs have gone and that I need a new set, even though both were running perfectly upto the engines coming out.

The coil packs are from a later Subaru and were modified as they have a 3rd earthing cable.

The other garage I use said its an earthing issue so have to fit an earthing kit and see if that works

the coils on the engine are from a newage subaru and are modified to fit the classic, but you also need to cut out the ignition module and connect the wires directly to each other.

the garage wanted £320 for 4 new coil packs... in the end paid them £30 for an hours labour... and fixed it myself.
