Default Stealth Knock Noise.......

Hey people,

Im hoping someone can either shed some light or just advice, i have had a loud clonk noise when sort of turning right or left. I put this down to the struts on the front so i have now fitted coilovers, it still makes the noise.

I am now thinking it might be the bottom arm rear bushes or maybe something to do with the steering colum/rack.

When stationery turning left and right is fine and soon as you start moving and just turning or evening sometimes over bumps you get this clonk noise.

If anyone has had sort of noises like these or any advice and what you might have changed in the past feel free to get in touch any help is good help

Cheers

i had the same issue when i had my coilovers fitted, check the preload, my spring was loose in the strut and this caused the noise, i reset the preload using this link for help
http://forums.maxima.org/advanced-su...er-brands.html

and it cured the problem

Similar issue on mine when I got it when turning right (I think), turned out that the previous owner had gotten a gibbon to fit his brake discs and said gibbon hadn't actually fitted both of them, rather just placed the left hand one somewhere near the axle and hoped for the best. I resolved this by simply replacing the lot with an AP Racing kit

Tubby probably right with drop links but its worth checking engine and gearbox mounts. Its all connected in one way or another so steering can cause knocking noises due to twisting action.
