engine
i have a bug-eye wrx.at present it has a knackered ej205 engine in it.is it possible to put a ej20 engine in.if not please could anyone explain to me why.i would be very grateful for any help as im finding it very hard to find a replacement engine.my engine lost oil and strarting banging.i think the bottom end as gone.not sure thou.
hi,
no as the inlet manifold are different plus you can not just change heads as piston are different. the cheaper way is to find a v5/v6 long engine and put that in. just remember to change crank/metal cam sprockets or it will not start.

Really????? I'm 99.99% sure you can use ANY bottom end with the op's own heads, inlet manifold etc, just make sure you get the correct head gasket
hi,yes you can use an ej20 classic bottom end keep your heads and manifold on it use 1.6mm gaskets and swap the mounting plate for the cambelt tensioner to the new one if you prefer that type and bolt it up using 4 bolts as a classic and not 8 as on your bug then a small modification drilllin out the starter motor on the 754 gearbox to mate up with the earlier engine mounting points and ure good to go.
hi thanks for all info.looks like i will have look out for the same engine ive got as im not clued up on motors just drive them.sorry who are wms, where are they as im in derby and whats there number plz
