If your pulling it apart you might ask yourself is it worth changing crank rods and pistons. Couple of grand to do all that. Is it worth changing rings then have the crank go later on?

if its blue it can be a number of things it can be turbo seals or the stem seals or piston rings and fitting a oil catch can will do nothing for the smoke or emisions really as the oil is getting in after the intake stage the cheapest option is the turbo and if its not the turbo it will be cheaper to buy a second hand engine from a breaker on here.
