Could be all sorts of things........you need to get the code read off the ECU

Dealer, e-bay or a local scooby nut springs to mind.

Changing the Filter doesn't always give a CEL because the DENSO ECU that you have is fairly clever at sorting out the airflow........having said that the ECU you have tends to have a hissy fit for no apparant reason sometimes.

Have you revved it anywhere near the rev limit, the ECU sometimes gets confused and throws a camshaft position sensor error !

That's why you really need to get the code read...

are you sure all your cat converters are there ? my light is on due to having a full decat system but thats on an 02wrx . not sure how much a garage will charge to tell you fault ? but i know some will sting you as you are at their mercy . i bought a "v1 monitor" for 130 and it tells you fault codes and if like mine its something simple and nothing to worry about you can turn the light off yourself in seconds then there is the 0-60 , quarter mile, bhp figures, boost, air fuel,temp,g-meter,shift lights etc etc to name a few . at least doing it this way you have piece of mind knowing exactly what the problem is
it simply plugs under steering wheel in your obd port and gives you the fault code and a brief explanation of the fault
