only 11mpg - simtek question

Default only 11mpg - simtek question

have a 2002 sti with a simtek fitted, but only doing 11 mpg now
been like it for about 2 months, so need it sorting asap.

which 02 sensor does the simtek use??? been told its the mid exhaust one, is this correct?

I,am sure it,s the front 02 sensor that,s used for the simtek but not 100% certain

You mean the one in the inter cooler pipe work ?

There is no 02 sensor in the intercooler pipework. Perhaps you are referring to the stock narrowband 02 sensor in the uppipe.

its ok thanks chaps simon (jgm) has just texed me, it uses the back one - half way down the exhaust...

Yep as above the one in the headers is redundant when using a simtek

That'd be a charge temp sensor !

Could the redundant sensor in the headers be disconnected and used for a wideband AFR gauge such as an Inovate MTX-L?

No, you wouldn't normally fit a wideband 02 sensor pre-turbo due to issues with heat. Rather get a boss welded onto your downpipe (post turbo) for the WB02 sensor.
