removal and fitting of new turbo advice
Now I know a decent socket set is handy and plenty of wd40 type releasing fluid helps too.
I am replacing the turbo and uppipe with a vf24 and classic uppipe (non cat), am I avoiding the major ballaches by replacing both at the same time or will the manifold bolts be a royal pain?
I replaced the downpipe (turboback system completely) last year and it had all new fresh bolts etc so dont foresee a problem there.
Would it be easier to fit the uppipe and gasket to the turbo before fitting to the car saving knuckle skin or does it have to go on after the turbo is on??
Any advice or have I missed anything?

Do them together. Up pipe on first and loosely secure to your stabilising bracket. Then drop your gasket on (make sure it's genuine Subaru). Then attach your turbo. I found that's the easiest way, I've done mine over 10 times now.
