AFAIK there is no sensor in the centre section.... are you talking about the down pipe.?

Why do you need to trace the origin of the lambda wire, (drivers side turret IIRC) just swap it from one pipe to the other.

Centre section is just a pipe like the above...... does your de-cat replacement section have a sensor boss ?

yes mate. And the one i have taken off has the sensor in it already .
I thought the sti 03 has two cats ? well mine has one on the centre pipe coz im looking at it.
I heard before the one straight from the turbo is the main cat and then its splits on the elbow to the second cat which is where my decat pipe will go .
cheers

From memory the blob STi has 4 sections from the Turbo back.

Downpipe (with cat and sensor), 2 intermediate sections (one with a cat), and then the back box....maybe someone with a Blob STi can offer help because I'm stumped..

cheers for trying to help me out. im stuck as well now, i have just had a look at the pipe coming from the turbo to under the car (where i have split it) and i cant see a sensor on that upper part !!!!! it just looks like a smooth pipe all the way around . The problem i had to start with was i bought the car from a dealer and in the boot was an old decat pipe. I thought it had been taken off and the cat replcaced to get an mot.
The rest of the system i think is an H&S, if i put this de cat pipe on and it has only the one cat im removing i dont know if its been mapped.
I need help, the wife has fallen out with me as the cars in bits and i should have been going out .
I could do with images of an original system but i cant find any for the sti.
cheers

I always thought the Lambda sensor was in the downpipe...not in a centre section.

So what's the sensor in the centre section ?

bit confused to be honest.

2nd cat pipe has a lambda sensor in it. this joins to the rest of the vehicle wiring via a connector along the side of the gearbox.

there is another lambda sensor before the turbo.

swap the lambda from cat pipe to decat pipe and fit. mapping should then be checked to ensure reliability of the engine.

if downpipe has no cat and decat pipe used then car will fail MOT and engine light will come on (unless turned of during mapping ).

Ok i have tried to get another picture but its not a good one.
This is taken from the engine bay looking down at the turbo . The pipe from the turbo has no sensor its just one smooth pipe from turbo to under the car .

DT-SPD does this mean its been decatted then if this pipe is smooth?
Zippy, thats what started the argument. women they just dont understand!!!

Do you guys think i should just put this pipe on and have it put on the dyno to see if its mapped already ?
Will it harm the car in the mean time if its not mapped.
thanks guys
