Default coolant overflow

hello all, just wondered what would cause coolant to overflow from the little pipe on the wing mounted expansion tank cap?

cheers

A few possibles are;
Its been Overfilled.
the cars overheating (thermostat stuck closed, blocked rad etc)
a weak radiator cap not keeping pressure
Headgasket leaking

the head gasket went 9 months ago and i bought an engine from a trusted member here which had the cometic stainless hg fitted. i'll be so pissed off if it is the HG
just replaced the rad cap with a 1.2 bar item so will try another run tomorrow, but as the car stands:-

No overheating
fans work as normal, no excessive running etc
heating always toasty
no wet carpet

there is NO steam coming out anywhere but due to previous hg fail im super paranoid and check levels religously and i drive whilst checking the temp gauge every ten minutes or so lol.
i check level in the header tank once a week and it's always bloody empty. (when cold) so i top up both header and expansion, bleed then sure as fate a week after i check header again and its empty.

theres nothing wrong with the car, i drove it like i stole it from aberdeen to aboyne which is about 50 miles and not a hint of overheat or steam. Then a few days later i'll have an easy drive check the little hose and its wet, so has clearly been leaking.

YES!! can't believe id ever be so happy to find a pinholed hose!!!!! two rubber hoses leading to the heater matrix are minor split/pinhole at the jubilee coupling. I gather if water is leaking out then air will be drawn in also. Maybe i shouldn't have been so quick to write off cometic head gaskets lol
