Top mount upgrade - MY99 UK
Evening all
Considering upgrading my top mount for future upgrades, and cosmetic reasons I guess...
It's standard at the moment, black top mount. What are my options and how difficult would each option be?
Cheers folks

i got a pro to fit an sti8 tmic to my P1. wish i had just gone to harvey smiths and paid a little extra for a proper fmic fitting. difference in the price isn't a lot and the engine bay looks much better when that area is less crammed.

Should I go for the newage wrx one mentioned above or go for the easier P1 intercooler?
Also is there much gain with the STI metal y-pipe that comes on the P1 intercooler?
As apposed to the original on mine?
I'm also looking for a silicone hose set for any of the above when I come to fit it, any recommendations?
Thanks again

The V5/6 sti top mount will fit straight on, not a lot of difference apart from the sti unit has bigger cores than the std unit. Regarding the y pipe you should change it to the sti unit because :1. They are restrictive and do not allow a direct flow of air to the intercooler .
2. As they are made of plastic they are more prone to cracking/ leaking than there silicone counterparts. Look for a sti original or a samco / prodrive y pipe if you must buy one IMHO .

In your opinion would it be worthwhile fitting this kit to the p1 intercooler or just get a single intercooler - inlet hose and leave the rest as it is...

No need to buy the kit imho, your P1 intercooler will be fine, just clean thoroughly to remove any oil,etc . Your recirc samco hose offers nothing more than looks imho,so maybe if your turbo to inlet hose is perishing then maybe something like this :

if you get the p1 intercooler, personally i would just replace your intercooler to throttle body hose. You can pick one a silicone one of those up new for about a tenner.
I have a standard intercooler hose for a fiver if you want or if you buy my intercooler i throw it in with it:
