Default Manifold Spacers

I'm going to make my own manifold spacers using either tufnol carp (as used in the Carl Davey spacers) or PTFE as I have seen elsewhere. The materials are cheap enough but I was wondering of anyone knows whether or not PTFE is self-sealing or whether it would still need gaskets when using them

Cheers

Jon

Yep it does, cheers mate - I've seen the o-rings on tufnol ones but not on PTFE ones - I have the tufnol sat in the garage so I'll stick with that and use the spare gaskets I have

I'm going to cut out a rough shape using a jigsaw and then hand fettle with my selection of hand files and grinders. There won't be a recess as I'm not good enough with a router to cut a recess, spacers either side is how Carl Davey's original ones were fitted

Making them for a V7 bug, should cost me about £20 all in

Plus enough left over to make header tank spacers too

I made CNC machined prototypes of these myself. Didn't fancy paying 120 for them!
The PTFE as a raw material is EXPENSIVE though!
They have been on my car for the past 3 months!

I will be selling these soon for 60 quid a set including bolts and o-rings.........

Yep. I'm in the process of starting a small business making various Impreza bits.

So far I have:

Rally mudflaps,
heat reducing header tank relocation brackets,
inlet mani spacers like the ones above,
intercooler covers,
15mm billet aluminium tow hooks,
replica sticker sets

The CNC shop are currently making the V5/6 prototype spacers, haven't got round to any of the newage stuff yet though.

I've found your website

I've managed to source some captive fasteners to insert into my header tank spacers, and also found plenty of cheap offcuts of PTFE which for me is not an issue but I'm guessing you'll be buying in bulk. I have already bought the tufnol though so I won't be doing the PTFE ones unless I screw this up

Be really interested in trying out the v5/6 spacers once you've made them, I'm just in the process of putting my car back together and these are one of the things I'm going to be getting to finish it off

Sure thing mate. I just want to test them for a bit longer before I start to sell them.....

When did you want them?

I need to think about opening a vendor account on here or something.
